Here's a website you can use to decode 915 gearboxes. Otherwise the best resource is a spec book. They are sold in ebay and all over the place.
915 Series Porsche Transmission http://rennlist.com/forums/attachmen...ationbooks.jpg Decoded: 7 - 6 cylinder engine 3 - model, all US 911, 911s and Carrera were the same 4- year, 1974 #- sequential serial number. So yes, 7:31 r/p. If you are considering buying it, make the seller remove the sidecover and provide conditions of it. California Motorsports just started a new 915 based FB page and interestingly enough, they posted a picture of a bad 7;31 just this morning. https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Porsche-915-transmission/1543604629208055?fref=nf Regards, Matt |
Matt. Thx immensely. This is the trans numbers for the twin of the one I posted about. M on running one. Were all 74 911 cars 7:31?
