modifying cup2 wheels
I had bought some 17" cup 2 wheels for my 930 which require 1.5" spacers to get the right offsets. I was wondering is it possible to modify the wheels so the offsets are correct (basically make them deep dish). I don't use them because I think the spacers are throwing off the suspension (plus I get flack for the looks). I've heard of shops which can widen wheels, but didn't know if you could make them two piece essentially and move the centers. Probably not worth the price but just checking.

You probably could. People do it to all sorts of wheels.
Does it make a good wheel? That is up for argument. IMO, not worth it, especially with an old cast wheel that may already be fatigued. Consider some Speedline, Kinesis or Techart multipiece 'Cup' wheels. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps930turbo.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...ept2010032.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3023/2...f97_z.jpg?zz=1 http://rennlist.com/forums/attachmen...s-img_2991.jpg The last are Techart Daytona wheels - and use a center styled after the 17" Cup2. Might be what you're looking for? Any of the above are very likely going to be cheaper than a custom multipiece wheel. There are also plenty of companies that still produce similarly styled wheels. Agreed. My 20+ years in wheels and tires (prior career) makes me think that modifying your cups will be expensive, and the results probably less than great. I'd sell them and buy something that fits properly.
