Starting question for those with the 2.7 mfi engine

I am curious to know how you guys start your engines when cold. I have a few seconds of cranking before it fires up. I pull up the hand throttle just a bit and let the fuel pump run for 15 or more seconds before cranking. Do you press on the gas pedal a few times before cranking?
Once it is warmed up it starts with a flick of the wrist.

Mines got headers so the thermostat is removed and a screw is used to keep it permanently in the warm/lean position. This presented a problem when trying to hot start so I had a button installed to manually operate the raw fuel squirters. I turn the key, press the button for a few seconds, foot to the floor (this lets the fuel squirted in above the butterflies reach the intake valves), crank and catches right away, then keep my foot on the throttle so that it doesn't die. I prefer to just use the foot throttle than the hand throttle (it seems to break easily and often). They both pull the same cable.

Prior to the button being installed it would take precisely 3 starts (each having the raw fuel squirters automatically activated) for it to continue running, and it would need plenty of throttle.
