Clutch cable plastic pins
That stoopid little piece of plastic with the two pins that fit into the clutch fork on my 2.2 broke.
I'm going to replace it tomorrow, but wondered if there are any tricks in doing the job as the clutch cable works backwards and is under compression at rest. Cheers

use the metal one sold by various suppliers. just back off the 2 nuts about an inch, pull the knobbed end of the cable out of it's retainer with needlenose visegrips, slide the retainer out of the ear on the bellhousing as you hold the cable knob, then it's obvious from there.

Steve,
My suggestion would be to replace the clutch cable, clevis, and clip/pin ... all at the same time, well-lubricated with moly grease ... to eliminate future cable problems for a long time! Be sure to examine the clutch pedal lever where the clevis and pin attach ... for potential problems with the eyelet or cracks. Pedal cluster rebuild wouldn't be a bad idea, either, since eveything fom your foot to the clutch throwout arm gets use every time you use the clutch ... and little, if any, preventive maintenance gets done between failures/repairs!
