Porsche Crest Mechanic near Pasadena, MD?

Hello everyone! I just purchased a 1990 Carrera 2 this past month and I'm looking for a good mechanic, techie or gearhead near Pasadena, MD. This is a little more advanced than the '77 I used to own. The local Porsche dealer appears to like to work on stock vehicles, not modified. Or, if anyone knows where I can use a lift to work on it myself, that would be great too. Here is what I know about it... I bought it out of California... (The picture here shows it sitting on the showroom floor. It was a consignment unit.) It has twin plug heads, performance intake manifold, chip, lightweight flywheel & Cup clutch (I don't know if it is the correct performance chip since there is the idle problem inherent with the lightweight flywheel. ) and K&N air filter. (The engine and transmission work was completed by Andial Racing in CA.) New head bolts were installed during the rebuild at 50K... It has 53K on it now. I think it has a performance cam. The copies of the ROs from Andial aren't clear. The car has been lowered on Koni springs with bilstein shocks. The car looks and runs extremely well and I can hardly wait to get it on the track to check it out. I am pretty comfortable doing work on it myself but would like to have a competent person available for anything I can't handle. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate hearing from you.

You'll have to track this one down, but there's a guy in that area named Tiff - I think. A Potomac buddy who's a serious track person sings Tiff's praises very highly. Check out http://www.pcapotomac.org and I'm sure someone there knows him.

Welcome!

Sorry I can't help you but another Pelicanhead (Chris Martin) from Severna Park might be able to do so.

BTW, no picture was attached.

Tiff's shop is right in Annapolis near the armory, West street I think. Doesn't look like much, but he has a loyal following of very expensive cars that are modified.

Good luck.

There are only 2 places I would let work on my car in the area.

Tif's Foreign Car Care (410) 268-8288, in Annapolis. He's a great guy and knows his stuff. Usually a lot of cars in the shop.

If he's too busy, Ralph's Auto Svc Inc (410) 356-0236, in Owings Mills. He's usually a little cheaper than Tif, but equally knowledgable. He's done some work on my car and lots of work to a buddies car. Highly recommended.

I am right aroung the corner in Severna Park. If I EVER get my car back together I am up for a MD get together!

Hey Chris:

Whats the hold up for pete's sake . . . it took me less time to swap out the 2.7

Seriously, how's everything going now that you have returned from the motherland.
