My new 1984 RS Orange 911 Carerra

Hi Guys,
I need another car like I need a hole in the head. Guess now I must have both. My son and I picked up this 84 from Indianapolis, out of Hawaii. It had a glass out repaint from Guards Red to the current orange. It's a decent paintjob, but not great. The engine was rebuilt and look pretty good. All the detail work is missing and the a/c compressor and deck lid condenser was removed.
I am currently going through the car. I've added headlight relays, extra fuses to instrument lights, footwell blowers and front condenser blower. I've ordered a carpet set, and plan on reinstalling the a/c. The car has SSI heat exchangers, but they were never really hooked up for heat. I finished a heater backdate and it looks great.
Anyway here are a couple of pictures that are in the "before" state. I will post "after" pictures when progress permits.
Thanks for looking.
Dave

Sorry, no graphics or ducktail planned. Hope for an otherwise stock rolling restoration, with a few backdate details: squareweave carpet, heater backdate, etc.
Thanks,
Dave

When I saw that car for sale I downloaded all of the pictures…that color orange is pretty rare on an IB 911. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

With that color it needs the duck and euro ride height.

I really like the sweeping lines of the stock 911 profile, and prefer not to add any tail. I don't dislike the look of a duck tail or a turbo tail, I just prefer the clean lines without tail.
Thanks for looking, and thanks for your interest.

When it was for sale here (Hawaii) earlier this year, I think the asking price was around $30k. IIRC, it was an outer island car, maybe Kauai.

Thanks, Bryan,
That sounds about right, both location and price.

I changed the motor and transmission mounts today and repainted the exterior door handles. Thanks for all the encouragement.

Trust me!

I don't think it needs the duck, unless you are going to modify it! Thus with the duck, everyone will try to race you! I would order the Steak and let someone else get the Duck!

Was it originally Guards Red w/ yellow engine compartment or was it yellow and then guards red and then orange? Just curious.

Looks nice, how many miles on it?
