Please help me with seats

Guys: I need a pair of seats similar to those that came stock in my '74 911; the seats at this point are a bit ratty, particularly on the driver's side. Preferably I would like the seats in red, but will settle for black. I'm not opposed to a sports seat, yet an out-and-out race seat doesn't seem very comfortable in traffic. The catch is I would like the seats in leather, but can't justify $1,100 per seat as is in Jack Olsen's car. Also, I would like the seats to be rather light, hopefully 20-25 pounds. Lastly, buying a reupolstery kit from Pelican Parts doesn't seem worth it in lieu of buying something brand new. Can you help me with some suggestions? I did see these seats at this link:

http://autotoystore.com/s50.html

They're Koenig seats. Has anyone used or have an opinion on them? They're about $760 per seat, which is the best price I've seen for a leather example that resembles a '74 911 seat. Nonetheless, I'm open to any and all suggestions anyone might have. In the meantime, I'm going to keep looking around.

Thanks for your help.

DD74,

I have Koenig reclining race seats in my car. They are tube frame seats and seem to be of good quality construction. My car is a track car and as such, I would not have chosen a reclining seat as my first choice. However, that's what came with the car.

I think the Koenig factory look-a-like should be pretty nice and the price is attractive. Have you checked the used market? Lots of people opt for performance seats and don't have room for their old factory seats.

Here's a pic of my seat.

I went with the Monaco RS seats over two years ago and have been very happy. Less than $1k, very comfortable, light, adjustable and they come in leather or a very good quality leatherette.

I went with these seats, be aware they are heavy though approximately 45LBS.

I now have a kirkey seat, weighs 8 lbs, but my car is track only now

You may want to contact " cornpanzer " send him a (PRIVATE -MESSAGE) and ask him if he will part with his seats.. he has a set of red 74 seats that i am sure he is wanting to take out and replace with original 70S seats so he may do you a deal...
just a tip..

Thanks for the help, guys...

And Dignan - thanks for the tip about cornpanzer. I'm still leaning toward aftermarket seats, but stock seats are always a possibility.

Thanks again.
