EXT light on Dash
Trying to figure out what the red EXT light next to the headlight knob on my '87 911 represents. I just started the car after a top end rebuild and the light stays on continually. Any ideas?

must be a canadian thing.

Is it in a rectangular space just to the left of the light switch? If so, I could not find out what it means by searching through the owners manual as it's shown as a blank on the dash identification page.
Just exactly which model of 87 do you have, and do you have any special options such as auto trans? |
My 911 is an 81 so not much help but I did find an 87 owner's manual online and there is absolutely nothing regarding this EXT dash light.
Could this be the 02 sensor life indicator? |
Warp core dilithium crystals have been "EXT"-inguished". Time to get another 911.

Interesting.
I would say that looks like it was added by a PO. What it does is anyone's guess. |
I'd say aftermarket alarm.

I traced the wiring from the bulb to the cruise control module under the dash (passengers side). My question now is - what would cause the light to stay on all the time?
