911 sc chassis number information
 

I am looking to buy a 1980 SC German Porche but I am not sure where to look for the chassis number can anyone tell me where to find chassis number? I know it is a ten digit number and starts with 91AO1 but I am not sure where to look on the car, Would it be in the same place as my 1981 SC UK model, which is a 17 digit number and start with WPOZZZ91. I have been told that it is in a different place and would rather know where it is before I go to view the car. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.

Should be in the drivers side door jamb (sticker) and in the trunk in the left hand side (metal tag)

thanks but i am looking for the stamp my 1981sc is under the carpet directly infront of you but I am told there is one to the left which is for pre-81 ten digit number

I have never seen a Euro model 911 with such a sticker. I think only US models have them?


The chassis number is stamped into the luggage compartment floor just ahead of the "smuggler room" lid. It's also to be found on the metal plate on the inner side of the right hand front fender.
