Drivers seat adjustment
Wife drove the car yesterday and pulled the seat forward. I got in this morning and the seat will only go back about 2 inches and my knees are still in the steering wheel. I don't see anything blocking the seat rails. Now I wonder how I'm going to get the seat out to fix it if I can't retract the seat back far enough to get to the front allen bolts.

Hi:
Longshot..... I recall an old Pano article saying that "early" seats might have this problem...I'm guessing pre74. Something about the hex bolts were installed upside down on a movable part of the slider...later cars were right-side up. After a number of years, the bolts come loose...drop down a bit..and cause a jam. Anyone remember more about this ??? ---Wil Ferch |

If that's the case, lifting the seat straight up while moving it backward might work??
