80s speedo needle stopping at 45 mph ?

Hey running my 74 2.7 with a later 80's 5 speed with magnetic pickup and speedo.
I have an access hole in the speedo for fine tuning the calibration ( this VDO OEM Speedo has a trim pot). Well recently and now I am noticing I am going 45 MPH at well above 45... Seems to be correct until 45 MPH then wont go past that any thoughts ? Maybe I'll chase down the ground connection first, then the magnetic pickup, haven't been down under there in a while.
K

Found it

Well recently the speedo got hung at 45 even with the car off. I pulled the speedo and shook it and it dropped down. Decided to take it apart, Once the bezel was off I could tell the needle stopped mechanically at 45 MPH.
With the back removed I found the trip meter has some small tabs between the digit rollers One tab was bent back seems to be thin metal. Initial thoughts are pressing the trip reset may have influenced the bend somehow.

Pushed the tab back and needle is now free, Have to see if the trip reset will do this again but appears to be a freak occurrence. I did find a loose bulb in the gauge but it may have fallen out when I was removing the lights from the back. Since the gauge was oriented somewhat sideways, it could be the bulb dropped out and fell in that area. It could have laid in or at that tab until either the needle mechanism or trip reset was pushed. Either way just passing it on.
