Early turbo tail rubber

I plan to add a rear spoiler and deck lid to my '82 SC and have a chance to buy my favourite--early turbo tail with small secondary grille. It has no rubber lip, which I would normally stay away from, but I have also found new rubber for a carrera tail. I have searched threads and know that it is possible to fit carrera tail rubber on tea tray, but nothing on compatibility of carrera tail rubber on early turbo tails. The rubber looks similar on these two tails. Anyone have experience with this? (Pics are not of my car)

So is that 2nd pic what you are referring to as the Carrera tail? If so, it seems that the rubber lip extends too far forwards and would therefore not mate to the early turbo tail base. I have an early turbo tail rubber lip available if you want a "correct" tail - I've PM'd you in case you're interested.
