Hi All,
I want to know if anyone of you out there knows of a way to determine the type of transmission in a car by using the VIN#. For example, how can I tell by the VIN# whether a 911 has a G50 trans or a 915? Is there some sort of reference chart or really good VIN decoder out there that can provide this information? Thank you all for your time. I would greatly appreciate any help that you all can offer. Please contact me at eaudot@gmail.com if you can help.

Shift pattern.........
Do you have access to the car? The G-50 transmission has a completely different shift pattern than the 915 transmission. The VIN# could identify what year is the chassis and what engine/trans were originally installed. The G-50 transmission is hydraulic assisted while the 915 is cable operated. The G-50 was introduced in '87 for the Carrera 3.2 models. Keep us posted.
