82' 911 SC Brake Bleed
Hey guys,
What is the best way to bleed your brakes after a front caliper swap? One of the Pistons in one of my front calipers blew out so I'm replacing them. Can I manually bleed the system or should I use a motive bleeder? Is this the correct order RR,LR,RF,LR? Thanks, Tom |

Your order is correct.
Many different views on bleeding. All work. Old fashioned way with a friend works well. Gravity bleeding is boring but effective. You can buy one way bleed valves from the local store if you have no friends like me. Those are pretty cool. I have a motive bleeder. Just another way to skin a cat. Main thing is (for me) is bleed till you are pretty happy. Drive around for a few days and "loosen up" air that you may not have gotten out. Bleed again. Just those few little bubbles make a huge difference - and they are sneaky.

I spent an unsuccessful hour trying to do the buddy-system brake bleed after replacing all calipers and lines on my '88.
The next day I bought a Motive and was able to bleed the entire system in 15 minutes (without my buddy). I put off buying the Motive for years thinking that I could do it just as well the old fashion way. The old fashion way may work just as well, however you can't beat the speed and ease of a power bleeder like the Motive. The Motive is worth every penny in my book. |

pelican parts sells the one way valves- they are amazing! when you do the caliper swap make sure the bleeders are at the top of the caliper and not reversed (seems to come up a lot here)
