Eventually it HAD to happen I'd reckon.

But now it's the waiting........ if things do come in 3's ? 1. Tail Spin - Dry road and flat chat into a dual lane round-a-bout, braked firmly and dropped back to second before entering (as you do) tramped it (too quick) at the apex ...... SPUN! Out and around I went! Wow, so this is what the "Tail Happy" talk is all about - I dunno who got a bigger fright, me or the bloke next to me in the other lane seeing the tail of my car spinning towards him! I know HE wasn't happy! All happens in milliseconds. Eased off slightly and caught it in the nick of time before I totally lost it again (Go Kart days kicked in). 2. Wallet Satchel Stolen - Arrive at the office, park immediately outside my door, toss my satchel onto the Targa top (stupid!!) as I get out to retrieve my briefcase behind the seat( as I always do) walk into the office, poke my head in to say g'day to my staff ..... oops, hang on - my satchel! Scoot back out - GONE!!? That quick!! Everything - cards, license, cash, office keys, personal details, stuff I've in there since 1978!! The lot! 3. ?????? Stay tuned.Self inflicted - both! Bugger it! Come Sunday I'm gonna hang up the phones, lock myself away in front of the telly with a slab all to myself and vegetate all day watching Bathurst! ![]() In the meantime I'm walking (on eggshells)

A couple of tough breaks there Sean. Drive home slowly and wrap the car in cotton wool.

7:50am Sunday is a 20 min Porsche Cup race. Mount Panorama and 911's. Need I say more - I predict carnage. Someone else is going to do what you did coming down that mountain of concrete canyons.

I had a near death experience on Sunday also! Coming back from Rye, getting ready to jump left onto the FWY back to Melb. Didn't realise it was a TWO way entrance into the FWY (WTF? NO SIGNS?), so I gunned it to overtake a line of *****boxes and 4WD's. Deep in 2nd, just swung out to overtake and this FREAKIN Magna is coming towards me, HEAD-ON! Slammed on the brakes, rears locked up, smoke everywhere, rear-end slid out, counter-steering to avoid a head-on collision with the on-coming sedan. Luckily, the guy swerved into the emergency lane or else WydRyd would have been no more Missed him by a few inches ![]() Scarey situation to be in and I know, I know, MY BAD, but what a rush ![]() Won't let THAT happen again!!!

My mother had her wallet stolen in the south of France this past summer. She promptly canceled all her credit cards and filed a police report. A month later she gets a call from the police saying they had found her wallet, everything was there but the cash! So you never know, you might get lucky. Your luck is already pretty good. You didn't damage your car!!!

This is close to the bone...I considered driving the 911 to work this morning as it's been a while since I last took it out for a daytime outing (Matt Holcomb and I tore up the mountain roads late last night in our 911s and my blood was still pumping!) and at the last minute decided to just drive the boring old company car (2000 Subaru Liberty/Legacy). That's a good thing, I guess as I was rear ended on the way to work. No kidding! I was in a 3-car pile-up (I was in front), where we'd been sitting at the lights and the guy behind me (stationary) was hit heavily by a Falcon Wagon. My company car might be a write off as the C-pillars are rippled, meaning that the roof is probably bent! Oh, well, it's not my car... but the boss was pragmatic... ![]() Please take care driving home, Sean. I am now officially TERRIFIED of Melbourne drivers...

Back to the topic, my mother would have a fit. She is all over the "things always come in 3's" thing. Be careful, she's always been right.

Did you all watch the race? I thought it was pretty unfortunate for both parties when the 18 yr old spun it under brakes and collected the 993 at the end of conrod straight. I guess thats a bad day at the office, maybe it was just inexperience. But at 18 he has some serious skill, what about his start...good effort. I noticed also car 72. I know that car is part of PCNSW, driven by Craig Drury. Anthony. |

....... some of your mum's luck rubbed off on me - I live out in the sticks but someone found it and tossed it on the track leading up to my home. My daughter found it. No cash but everything else important to me was there. Still, I fell pretty ordinary complaining about something so petty as I watch the news here of the Bali terrorist bombing. So many Aussies, now not coming home
