If you haven't heard quite yet, I have just finished my new book, "101 Projects for Your Porsche 911". Due to be shipped at the end of this month, we're currently taking orders for the book at the official website: http://www.101projects.com. More importantly, we are going to be giving away FREE copies of the book to FIVE lucky winners. How do I win? In the next day or so, I will be releasing a 911 Tech Quiz that has all the answers in the book. The Quiz will consist of 10-20 Porsche 911 related questions. The top winners will be people who answer the most questions correctly! Winners will be posted on this list and the www.101projects.com website! In the case of a tie-breaker, winners will be chosen at random from the pool who answered the most questions correctly. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY!!! What will I have to do if I win? There are a few catches! You have to write a 1500-2000 word review of the book, and post this review to both Amazon.com and Barnes & Nobles (BN.com). In addition, you have to email the review to me, and I will post it on the Pelican Parts BBS, the Rennlist, and the www.101projects.com official website. Not too bad for a free book! So, keep your eyes out for the Tech Quiz, I plan on releasing it tomorrow night. I will give you the weekend to work on it, and will announce the winners early next week! Thanks everyone for your support! -Wayne http://www.101projects.com http://www.pelicanparts.com |

Wayne. that book looks (in all honesty) like the BEST Porsche tuning book that i've seen. you've hit the bullseye on the things that mechanically-inclined Porsche owners really want to konw how to do.
if i had a 911 i'd get a copy, but i almost feel like picking one up anyways just to add to the bookcase. offhand, is there any chance you'd feel like doing a part 2 for the 944? what about for the 914? the 944 book is one that i can guarantee you that tens of thousands of people would buy. right now we have... oh, let's see.... NO books on the subject that specify the 944 (just some books that have tidbits, but not decidated like your 911 book) give it a thought! in the meantime, excellent work on that book! i hope it tops the NY Times bestseller list ![]() obin |

I'd have to convince the martketing guys that the 944 is a good bet. I think it is, but I'm not sure they do...

. there is ONE book out there on 944 performance and stuff and it's ok, but it doesn't go into depth like your book does for 911s. i honestly find most tips on 944 performance from regular "water cooled 4 cylinder" books. sort of like how you can find lots of tips on hot rodding both VWs and Porsches in the books written in the 1960s for "air cooled rear engined" cars. i get a kick out of reading about brand-new cams and $200 for a set of lightweight racing wheels. the 944 performance book was written while the series of FEWC cars was still in production. there's A LOT of stuff that has recently come out so it might just be time for a new book ![]() keep up the good work! obin |
