Weber fuel pressure

Is 2.5 psi enough fuel pressure for Weber carbs? How would the engine run at 2.5 psi? I've always thought that 3.5-4 was correct. All other adjustments ballpark. Engine is 2.4T with Webers.

Weber specification for fuel pressure is 3.56 psi. Lower pressure will flow less fuel than a higher pressure. Fuel delivery is rated for sustained full throttle operation. Doubtful that you would need higher pressure for a 2.4T for normal street operation.

Gary,

Paul is spot-on as usual.

3.5 psi is the targeted fuel pressure and after that's set, float levels should be checked and adjusted as needed as one is dependent on the other.

Thanks for the replies. I'll pass on the info. Friend won't be happy that the floats need to be reset.

If not needed, no. That is, if your fuel pump creates 3-4 psi at the engine, no.
