Decision time: '96 993 C2 coupe vs. my '91 964 C2 cab

Went to the local dealer yesterday and they had a 1996 C2 coupe (sunroof), black/gray, 35,000 miles for sale. Absolutely beautiful. Now, there is nothing mechanically or otherwise physically (insert the sound of wood knocking) wrong with mine, but I do love the last of the air cooled! I'd be able to track it, but I wouldn't be able to go topless on those beautiful Carolina afternoons. What to do, what to do....

Opinions?

What a dilemma. And to add to the equation - better the devil you know.

I've always been a bit of a topless fan myself, but I would go for the 993 C2 if you are planning on keeping the car fairly long term.

I guess if it looks ok financially go for it, then tell us what it's like

I would take any coupe over any convertible/Targa any day. (unless I could flip the conv/targa real quick : - )). I like the lines on the coupe and I am a race fan - they dont race conv/targas.

My opinion, now get the one you want : - )

To quote 911&Porsche World magazine "What's the point of building a sports car and then cutting a bloody great hole in the roof?".........buy the 993 and don't look back .

later,

Porsche A/C spelled - J-O-K-E. CAB is cooler. Unless you are going to track the car, buy the best car from a mechanical standpoint be it CAB, Coupe, or TARGA. That is what I did.

Trent I have seen your 964 and I would honestly say keep it. It is a beautiful car.

Not sure of your track intentions but you could always put a roll bar in it. I could never be with out my Targa. A coupe my be in my future one day but there will always be a spot in my garage for a targa.

993 are great cars no doubt but I really like your 964
