Post Any 911 and Boxster owners out there?

I know this is a 911 forum, and I have an 87 911. The 911 forum on this board is active while the Boxster forum is slow. I have been known to frequent opposing 986 boards because I also have a 986 and i see no response to the "local" 986 board. Are 986 topics considered OT here? I only ask this because inspite of Wayne's efforts the Boxster forum has not yet taken off.

People come here and ask if they can be helped with their BMW, or mercedes, or some other car. Usually if the topic and the text is friendly and ok, then others do answer...

But on the other hand, this ain't my board.

the boxster board is probably alittle slower and less frequented because the boxster is a "newer" car. not to many repairs needed for these cars because of their age. thats what im thinking. give it a few years and im sure the board will pick up.i mcould be wrong though.

I've got a 2000 Boxster and except for the occasional smoke puffs and body and chassis squeaks the car has been a dream to drive. Truly low maintenance and a lot of fun. I'm sure as they get older, you and I will need to get wiser on their care and feeding. But in the meantime, we get to enjoy the run.

Just wait until the maintenance warranty runs out....it'll pick up then.

The first post will be as follows:

I have a '97 Boxter that I decided to keep after the lease ran out. My question is. What is a dipstick and where do I find it?

Also, I'd like to add washer fluid, where do I find the filler location?

I of course, jest, as I wouldn't mind owning one along with my '84, but I've noticed that many boxter owners are leasing with no reason to even want to work on them.

I think there is a lot of truth to what Josh says.

I mean, what can people with a rented car that is under warranty really talk about in a technical forum??

But, once they get out of warranty, and go through a few owners, and start selling for $18,000, they will fall into the hands of people that work on them themselves.

What's up with that?
Mrs. Zielke wants me to find her a nice little Boxster, so we've been looking at several 2-3 year old ones. Test drove quite a few and saw the smoke. Hell, some of them smoke more than an '84 Carrera with bad guides and a hole in the #6 piston!
Would I park some smokin' POS Boxster next to the pristine Blue Bomber? Don't think so.
