Hi everyone,
I am a new member/owner. Just recently purchased a red 1980 911SC Turbo Look steel conversion. Here is what I was told in the past: If you have a Porsche then it is a must to be a member of pelicanparts.com. So here I am. Needless to say, I have been a long time Porsche fan ever since I was a teenager. Thru out I have owned a 1980 924 Turbo, a 1984 944 and a 1987 944 but the air-cooled 911 has always been my dream. I was not really actively looking for a toy car right at the moment (having moved from Kansas City, MO to NY, Long Island within the last couple of years, got married, had a baby and just a couple of weeks ago my wife and I purchased a new house) I felt it was not the right time yet to be looking at Porsches but you know what people say, s…t happens. Couple of weeks ago I run into this 1980 911 SC with a turbo look, steel conversion done by the previous owner. I just had to have it. The price was right and there are not that many turbo look out there for sale in that condition and price range. It did not take too much convincing to say, “This is the one”. A huge thank you of course goes out to my beautiful wife who pretty much showed no resistance. If this is what you want, get it, she said. I did, and here it is …… Last edited by 1980 911; 11-29-2014 at 08:53 AM.. |

We went out cruising today while everybody was shopping. Great fun driving it and I tell you, my wife was counting the people staring at the car. It was phenomenal. |

Oh Haha, Reifle, zl0ca, thanks guys for welcoming me. I already had my mechanic install a short shift kit and new bushings, rear brake calipers, done an oil change and installed new bulbs in the instrument cluster. So far so good. Nothing mechanical needs to be done for the time being and I hope its stays like that for a while. Most likely during winter I will be replacing the current Momo Tuner steering wheel that came with the car with the Momo Mod 07 or Momo Mod 8.
