oil filter ?

Question is !!!! I just replaced the oil and filter about 600 hundred miles ago with VR1 20w50 , I now want to change the oil to BP 10w40 for the winter. Do I need to change the oil filter again or will it be ok until spring when I change the back. The tems have been in the 30's and I want to drive the car now..

Personally, I'd leave it. Perhaps remove, drain, fill replace, like I would during regular oil change.

We all have our own ways of dealing with cold driving...like I put a space heater under my engine for "x" time before starting depending on temp...Yup, that is nuts, and I'll gladly own it

Why change it at all?

Just drive it. Per Porsche, you can safely use 20W-50 for about 15F to over 100F.

Thanks LN Engineering
