Pls help: Adjustiong CO on 930

Gang,

I had to replace the mixture screw on the 930 and dur to some slight changes and dissassembly, I need to reset the CO on the car...

First: I need to set it for low emissions for the pollution test.
Second: I need to set it for otimum running.

Please help! I don't have a GASTESTER and need to get it reasonably close but despite 3-4 hours of tinkering and all the reading I can find, I'm still clueless.

I have 30 days to pass emissions and need to at least get close.

THanks,

I think you are going to have to buy or borrow a gastester. It would be very hard to do it with out one.

get it hot, unplug the oxygen sensor, clamp the airpump hose between the pump and the gulp valve, turn the CO adjuster counterclockwise a bit at a time, until you hear the idle speed decrease somewhat. leaning the idle mix eventually causes the idle speed to slow, somewhere around 2% or less. keep leaning a bit more, as long as the idle doesn't get too rough. then plug the oxygen sensor back in, and unclamp the air pump. the oxy sensor will put the mixture where it wants to. there must be a shop near you that will do a sniff test for cheap or free.

THis is a Euro 930, I don't think it HAS an oxygen sensor, does it? Definitely no air pump... Mechanical injection here...

Now, you're saying lean it out untill just before it runs rough? I was told to increase the mixture richness untill the idle doesn't climb any, then back it off slightly.. AUGH..

Well I made an appointment to a guy with a tester... I'll have him set it once for emmissions, then set it back for smooth running, they're definitely NOT the same setting

The Gunson gastester is $140 shipped. I think it is well worth the price
