New fuel pump...

Hi. This will probably be a simple answer but it's always the simple stuff that confuses me. I am replacing the fuel pump on my 1970 911T with Webers, I bought a new one from PP 901-608-106-00-M244 which I believe is correct. My problem is the old one has 3 hoses to it, in-out and a return back to the tank, the new pump only has 2 hose ports in and out. Is it common practice to block off the return when installing a new pump? It doesn't mention this in 101 Projects? Just want to make sure and get some feedback for safety issues. Thanks guys...

The pump your car came with has been effectively NLA for about 20 years, maybe more. Plug the return at the tank. There's a plug with the correct threads.

Could anybody tell me where I can find this plug? Is it called a fuel tank plug? What size thread is it? I am assuming the return line is not the bottom, or lowest point? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks...

As I see it on the parts diagram, I think it's 900 219 009 130, Screw Plug, M22 x 1.5. The sealing washer would be 900 123 011 30, Washer, A22 x 27. Both should be available from your nearest dealership, although they'll most likely have to order them. The return line is the one without the screen.
