interior cover
I have a 1983 cabriolet. I am looking for a cover that can be used to protect the interior of the car when I have parked the car and have the top down. I was wondering if anyone else has any information on if such a product exists.
I used to have an old triumph spitfire in 1969 that came with a tonneau cover that would snap in to place and zip up, but I can't seem to find anything like that for my porsche. Any help is appreciated. |

Well I tried to post what you are looking for but the hyperlink won't work as it's from another vendor...

You need a tonneau cover. GAHH makes them, as do others. You will also need to install tenax studs in key locations, including the dash, door tops, and interior rear floor area. Here is a photo of mine, as well as a link to GAHH...good luck.

I wouldn't store the car long term with the top down. Not particularily good for the top IMHO.

toneau cover
These toneau covers were very popular back in the day, and quite nice. I had one for my '65 MGB, and used it all the time when the top was down. Handy in the days before power tops. Simply unzip the center, fold back the driver's side, and drive off. It helped keep the rest of the interior lean as well.
The point of not keeping the top folded in the down position for too long or you will have some issues with the rear window.

Thanks to everyone for their input. Sounds like I would be better off to simply put up the top when the car is parked, leaving the window unzipped.

There are some out there that go over windshield run along door tops and end at back of boot cover....I believe they used to be attached at wiper arms, mirrors, door handles and rear of boot...check cover craft, cover king, or number of other manufacturers..yo will see what I'm talking about.
