99 996 Pinion Bearing Removal

Does anybody knows somebody in Dallas TX area that can remove and install pinion angle bearing on a manual 996? Transmission is already out and disassembled. Stealer not longer work in transmissions, they only order new ones.

Send it to California motorsports: Porsche transmissions, parts, service and manufacturing – California Motorsports Inc You need a really big press and proper tools for that job

Try Viking Motorsports, though he may only want the job if he puts the whole thing back together. Not that many rebuild that box and those who have invested in the tools and learning how to do it don't share that knowledge freely.

People are more protective of that box. I could give you the names of 10 shops in Texas who would set up a 915 ring and pinion and not care about the rest of the build. Fewer 996 builders and more protective of the knowledge. You might have to ship it.

I'm so surprised how dealer and Porsche "specialized" shops misleading people to get new transmission when this thing start howling, ain't walk in the park either but doable in no time. So if any of my fellow Porsche lovers experience some'n like that...well,I can help.

Good on you. That's what these boards are for. All the parts for it are readily available. Dealerships these days are just too lazy to learn how to do the harder stuff.
