Would you use these on the street?

http://www.route30classics.com/

The race mirrors on the site above look awfully cool. I'm always afraid my kids are going to knock my mirrors off. I guess I have mirror worry. Perhaps these mirrors would help. I don't know.

Does anybody out there own them?

Those are some pretty sweet looking mirrors. I would use them if the rest of my car was set up to match the styling. I am fond of the power mirrors on the car but these aftermarket items are certainly appealing.

I agree. Pretty cool. I hate big mirrors. Somebody's always bumping into them.

I have on on my car. I had to cut a convex mirror to put in, because with a flat mirror, they are about useless on open roads. With the wide angle, the are OK.

They were designed to be fastened by 2 nuts/bolts through the alloy window frame. I couldn't bring myself to drill the frame, so I glued them on with some silicone glue, like the one used in fishtanks. Held perfect the last 2 years.

Don't forget to factor in the time and expense of filling and painting the original mirror mounting holes.

I am using them since 1 year. Let say, it is usable not more.

You loose some angles of vision, but once you use to that, this is not disturbing anymore.

I've got one on my 71T. I painted it black and it is hardly noticeable - but looks cool!

As far as using them - you will excersise your neck a bit more, but once you are in the habit of looking around its fine. Go for it!

Steve, do you have a picture? I'd love to see them on an early car.
