What Fuch combination.

I recently scored the quadfecta and picked up a set of 9x16 Fuchs for my 89 coupe. I currently have pairs of 6, 7, and 8 x 16 Fuchs. Right now I have the 7's on the front with 205's and the rear 8's with 225's. I am planning on putting the 9's on the back with 245, but the front's are what I am seeking advice for. Can I use the 8" up front with no interferences? If so, with 205's or 225's? I have lots of neg camber up front and don't think the fender edges will be a problem. I use 8 and 9 Fikse track wheels with no problems running 225 and 255, but there offsets are better suited for narrow body 911's.

I believe the 944 turbo (951) Fuchs are the only 8's that are going to fit up front.

Double Bonus. I'm in Pittsburgh and will take either the 9" or 8" Fuchs off your hands...whichever don't work for you. Need some rear wheel thickness for my '88.

Thanks!

I think 7s and 9s are the way to go. 8" fronts will look goofy, IMO.

My '89 runs 16x6 fronts and 16x8 rears. I think the 2" difference front/rear suits the 911 well. (I wish I had 7s and 9s!) :)

Adam, I run 9" up front! How goofy is THAT?

If you want 7 and 9 FUCHs, you can have mine for a measly $2.5k - LOL! :D

Merv,

Your car isn't goofy, man. ;) but I think 8" Fuchs fronts would look wrong on a standard bodied Carrera. On a turbo-bodied or early RSR look car, they'd look the bomb!

I am imagining what else I could get for $2,500 right now... :D

Dr. Island is correct. 951 offset 8x16 Fuchs can be used up front on a narrow bodied '69-89 911, and most tires in 225 size can be mounted on them with some minor clearance issues that are car dependent. This is a good combo with 245s on 9x16s in the rear for track work (where understeer with 205s on the front can be a problem).
