Fuel Sending Unit & miracle spray.

My Fuel gauge got stuck at a 3/4 level and no longer accurately represented the true fuel level. After some diagnostics I decided it had to be the fuel sending unit.
After a new one arrived from our host, I got busy preparing for replacement and stumbled across this little fellow stuck behind the dash:

Unfortunately the end had come for him quite some time ago I imagine:

5 nuts and washers and the fuel unit can be removed. Its pretty snug so it requires a little coercion, but it lifted out smoothly.

Now in a shameless plug I wanna mention a can of miracle spray. It is an electrical contact spray called "Deoxit". On a recent trip to Circuit of the America's my daughter reclined her passenger seat. It went down, but it failed to come back up.
A quick search on this forum revealed that it could be a failed contact in the switch.
I removed the seat, extracted the switch bezel and soaked it with Electrical contact spray, re-connected the power source and tested it.

It worked immediately.
Since then I now spray this magical elixir on every electrical connection I touch.
Prevention or cure - I really dont care, I think its GREAT stuff.
It removes oxidation, enhances contact and coats the contact in a protective film.
Its safe for circuit boards and any electrical connections.

Well known in audio circles for curing crackly pots/switches on vintage stereo gear.
