New Years Day TRE

Happy Holidays everyone.

1/3/15 Thanks to all for visiting. I went on the drive too and roads were remarkably clear, chilly with the top down, and you could not ask for a more beautiful day

Looks like another year has gone by way too fast.

Lets meet at my shop at 7:30 am on Jan 1st , 2015 for bagels, donuts, and coffee.

The address is 15854 Strathern St. Van Nuys 91406.

From what I hear over 100+ people will be taking a drive after the meet and greet. I hear it ends up in Montrose on Honolulu Ave where people pick their own lunch spots

No affiliation of course, but just sharing the info on the drive

All the best

Dave

LOL !
Well there IS a reason some call it the "Hangover Run" or "Hangover Rally"

At least 120+ cars seem to find it possible each year.

I stopped counting once the cars stretched the equivalent of 3 blocks on each side of the street

Enough Red Bull and you can not only stay awake all night but you can be reasonably alert. You won't be able to do higher math, but you will appear to be wide awake.

60% to show and trying to convince my BIL to come with. He's got a 1st gen mini and a countryman. I think he would have fun on the drive too.

Do you really think I need to?

They are already mounted . . . but . . .

Lateral stability goes totally out the window. Even a simple snappy lane change becomes a slideways proposition!

Depends on the exact route. I don't expect much snow on the road but it will be mighty cold with temps in the 20s at some elevations. My sticky tires will stay home this time in favor of more winter-friendly tread. Car heater works great so I am ready!

W00t! That was fun. Decided to see if the Tesla Model S could make the spirited journey and it did! Back home with 25 miles to spare. No pix from me this time.

Nice to see everyone again!

Fun indeed! We hooked up with a handful of cars and had a spirited yet sane run through the canyons. A great way to spend NYD.
I did see 28F indicated in one of the coldest sections. It was very fresh this morning but no black ice encountered.

Had a great day, thanks Dave for getting the day started at your shop. I took a couple of pictures but my camera quit cooperating due to the temperatures. I was a little cold with my Targa top off but not to bad. No frozen body parts and my Pirelli P Zero Nero All Seasons tires stuck to the road as usual. I took a couple of pictures but my camera quit cooperating due to the temperatures. But I did get this this one:
