Just more enrichment for the story.

I tried to give this guy 2 chances. First call was to find head studs. He tells me he has never heard of head studs breaking in a 3.2 . Told me I must be looking at something else like a cam tower stud that fell out. So I ordered those from Porsche. Today I tried again, this time for a replacement chain tensioner because the relief spring and retainer fell out when I removed it. (dodged a bullet there) Today his reply to me asking if he had one is " we never put those pieces of garbage in any engines we do". I asked him what he thought was the best replacement and he said to use the old style spring tensioner. WTF? Am I missing something here? Waynes book clearly states to change old style to the new oil fed style during rebuilds not the other way around. If I did it his way I need to find some old chain covers and plug up the oil feed lines. What an IDIOT! Almost done with my rebuild. Just need to find a tensioner close by.
