BBS Racing Halves Stamp

Went and looked at a set of 15" staggered BBS racing wheels and noticed stamp. Seller said, they were purchased for a street car, from a BBS dealer in Berkeley CA, a long time ago. He said they were expensive and hard to get, at the time.

the 78 SC/930 conversion project I picked up had 3 sets of these BBS in 16"

pls to fully restore them, but finding 16" tires is the challenge. especially for the 11" rears.

a pic of car from PO.

Bob,

Your car looks great, looks like a time capsule, I like the period correctness. The color goes well with the gold BBS. Thanks for posting.

LOL...

that pic is from the PO. when I got the car it was not running. the muffler case had split and hot exhaust burned through the rubber seal and burned some of the engine bay wiring.

almost down to the tub for full rebuild. suspension all off and the engine is down to the case. will change color, but have not decided yet.

Bob,

Are you going to use the same wheels?

yep. upgrading from just SC brakes to proper 930 caliper/rotors,so the 16" wheels will work.

I think they are 8", 9", and 11" width, still have old tires so cannot measure correctly.

big issue is tires. hope I can find something when I get it done.

plan to take apart and rebuild, buff/polish the barrels and re-powder coat the centers.

Plan to work some overtime and get mine done. Do a search for Pelican Id Clay.0, he did a great job restoring his wheels. ColumnM just did an article on this car.
