Smile JUST TURNED 100k MILES !!!

Just took about a 20 mile ride through the canyons, full of colorful autumn leaves, temperatures in the 60's, AND TURNED 100k MILES. Bought it 18 months ago with 89K miles, new tires, shocks, clutch, turbo-tie rods, etc. etc. Leakdown is 6%, compression 145-150 range, was burning about a quart every 600 miles, but I think I might get 700 per quart with new intake manifold gaskets just installed. She runs strong, and is an absolute blast. Looking forward to the next 100K miles - yeehaw.

Wow. Sounds like a great drive and what beautiful scenery.

Our 930 is in the shop today for pre-winter storage work. We'll get a couple more drives in and then we'll be in withdrawal until next spring!

Sarah, you can make one of those drives to Phoenix. I'll let you store your 930 in my garage for the winter. You can leave the keys too, I'll start it for you every now and then so it's ready for you in the spring.

Heck Phoenix is a nice place to live too. Think about it Sarah you could drive your 930 363 days/yr. Two days taken out for the twice yearly 15K service you'll be doing! No, then how about all those endless miles of freeways through the desert? Still not convinced...you can once and for all toss that snow shovel and spend your time waxing and tanning!

Hummmm....thanks for the offers...i'll think about it!!

But what about the high AZ temps?? Would I only be able to drive it once the sun went down?? (just kidding). I have a friend who lives in Chandler. They used to be in MN then CA. She really likes it there. They have a pool & hot tub...makes me sick (ok..that was jealously talking).

On another note...I have a sister in Scottsdale. She and her hubby have a home there and in MN. We are thinking of going to the Barrette Jackson (sp?) car auction with them. If we happen to go, i'll see if it's possible to meet up with any AZ pelicans.

Have a good day!! (it is rainy & gloomy here...humm...looks like it will be a pleasant drive home from work...not).

Sarah, my wife and I go to the Barrett Jackson auction every year. The Kruse auction is the week before, that's another good time.

Let me know if you're coming, maybe we can meet up. My car was on the block at Barrett Jackson in 2001 by the previous owner but it didn't sell.

Mark - What is the exact date of the auction?? My sister has not emailed me back yet. She and my brother-in-law always go too and he is really into cars (read that as fancy and expensive cars). My husband has a co-worker who also has a home in AZ and MN and they are thinking of going too. If we go that would be totally fun to meet up with you and your wife.

(Ilan...sorry...did not mean to hijack your thread)!!

Sarah, the Barrett Jackson auction is January 15 - 19, 2003. It's held at West World in Scottsdale, I live about 10 minutes from there. This is usually a great time of year in Phoenix and the auction has an amazing display of vehicles.

If you can make it down here, let me know. Maybe we can all meet up.

Hey, Ilan. I think that we have twin cars. Mine is white/black also. I thought that was mine in the pic.
