Original ST For Sale

The topic of valuation of a 911R recently came up. Here's an original ST - nearly as rare - at 185,000 Euros:

Also, here's an original RS Lightweight converted to 2.8RSR specs with cool Martini-like livery for 125,000 Euros:

I'll second that - HOLY MOMMA!

Numbers? How about 9-1-1-2-8-6.

BTW my wife doesn't think I need a 2nd green 911 in the garage. HA!

I can tell you're not math challanged, therefore don't play the lottery...or in a 6 number string, you wouldn't play the same number twice. Doing so would makes your odds of winning zero, instead of the mere millions to one.

Now, now Paul.

At the risk of this thread being tossed off into OT-land by the powers that be because it turns into a probability discussion...

The 6 number strings have equal chances of winning, even though they differ by a single character. Those two strings would still double your odds, from infinitesimal to 2x infinitesimal!

Somebody really needs to do an R-Gruppe rally replica like this, complete with Minilite rear wheels and giant Cibie backup light screwed to the rear fender!

So far I have the ambition for one and the rear flares...

I think it is coming along nicely

Thumbs up

Great cars with lots of authentic touches. There are two ST replicas being built by R Gruppe members that I know of. I have all the stuff to build a '72 ST replica except for the correct flares, though there were some '72 rally cars built with only RS rear flares.

Nope. 9-1-1-2-8-6 doesn't happen in a lottery drawing. You see, once the #1 ball comes up, it won't be drawn again...there would be more than a few protests if it happened...kind of like somebody having a hand of 5 aces in poker? BTW, do you know how to make a sweet 85 year old lady mutter the "F" word? Get another sweet 85 year old lady to yell BINGO!... That said...GAWD I love Irish green cars! Funny they don't sell well at Pamona, though...

I would absolutely make room for another green 911 in my garage if given the chance to obtain this ST (I'd need help from the lottery as well).

How cool are these cars anyway. When I see the likes of these, I know I'll never own a 993 (no offense to those who do).... I just know what revs me to 10 grand..... an early lightweight competition model 911.

Thanks Curt..... now I'll never get to sleep tonight!?!?!?

Paul, you're first observation was right - I don't play the lotto. I might if Curt posts more of these pictures!

Where/what is Panoma? Not that I plan to sell my car or anything !

Wow Curt. That is very much what I would like my car to look like (and act like) when I'm done with it. Especially the 230 HP out of 2.3 liters. I'm inspired again!!!

Well this is interesting. I just found another green ST for sale at the same place! The serial # is only 3 off from the first one.

I think there were 30 "S/T"s. But it's all a bit confusing to me. It's not straightforward like the R, RS, and RSR. Many different configurations. Some with no flares, some with rear flares only. Some with 2.3L, some with 2.5L, 2.4L, 2.2L, etc.! And sometimes they appear to be called "T/R"s. Maybe somebody can straighten this all out. -- Curt

Hmmm, beware of counterfeits. ST's are going for huge bucks, "S" models for less, and yet I do know of at least one T being touted as an S, with VIN's changed! Me? I'd have proudly kept the T engine lid badge, while laughing when owners of real "S" models wondered why I was pulling away. "Panama"...a country full of corrupt politicians...."USA"...
ditto. Pomona? A town in California that hosts a swap meet...where Wayne sees "excellent" early 911S models offered for sale for well under $10K... sorry about the misspelling. BTW, today's "Irish Green" resprays? IMHO they don't quite match the original...
