Cool 9305700226-What is it?

I just went for a ride in a car with the vin of 9305700226. The new owner claimed that is was a europe delivered turbo. It supposedly was imported by an american military doctor.

The car itself was pretty heavily modified with a large intercooler, waste gate spring control, nasty cam noise, and huge tires.

exterior was ice green, interior was black bolsters and plad inserts.

Sunroof and electric windows.

I couldn't find the vin# in my charts.

It had a certificate from Porsche but didn't say anything other than the vin, trans, engine# and original color (ice green)

42,000 miles.

What are the chances that this is some sort or early euro 930?

Thanks for your help.

that is exactly what you found- an early european 75 Turbo . originally a 3. 0 liter with 7 and 8 x 15's, no power brake booster, 4 speed, no intercooler, and no smog.

Cool

Thanks.

In just looking at the car, and knowing what the new owner paid for it, I believe that I wasn't the only one going for a ride!

I read the article about BB2. There was one thing about the flares that I remember from the early cars.

The early 930's for the street were delivered with spacers. My '77 930 came with a 3/4" spacer on the front and 1" spacer on the rear. The race cars however did not have spacers. They just had 9" front and 11" rear wheels that filled out the wheel well.

To increase the tire contact patch Porsche went to the 16" wheels because they were restricted to the width of the wheel to race in group 4, I believe. By '78 they went to the larger calipers and thus needed the 16" wheels for that reason also.

I just love these cars.

Would you happen to know the owner or have a form of contact. I owned chassis #9305700226 from 1993 to 1999. I then sold it to a gentlemen from St. Louis MO....I know he made some changes when it fell into his hands (wheels/tail). I'd like to share some photos and the story of how i came about the vehicle with the new owner.

Thanks
Mike
