Installed my Dash and windshield!
 

The harder of the two was definitely the new dash.

That was a real wrestling match. The new cork vinyl looks awesome but also added enough width to just slightly effect how it fit with the gauge cluster. With the help of my cousin we got it in and down.

I nearly lost sh@t putting the dash in, "just get in the hole you stupid bolt! all your other friends are in their holes, you bastard!"

I was a little worried about the windshield because of everything I have read.

Really it is not a hard job at all.

The key is a generous amount of astroglide well at least walgreens knock off glide.

It made everything easier after using the astroglide, I was more calm and relaxed and ready to tackle the install of the window then it hit me why not use it on the window rubber too!:)


Putting the aluminum trim was not bad it was just a little bit of work getting it to seat. After that I put in the car with the rope at the bottom of the window to start and it just popped in to place. Well the interior flange pops into place. If you look at the rubber their is an outer flange that goes around the glass and then fits to the body of the car. Then there is an inner flange that connects to the interior. Then in between the two there are a series of 4 or 5 smaller ridges that connect to the body frame of the car where the window sits.

I used a plastic fork to get the outer rubber flange to seat correctly and on the inside portion I used a small screw driver to pull the flange over the new headliner.

I did it all by myself which made it a little tougher but not really. I just pulled one of the ends rope all the way to the top and then the other. Next step was just pushing on the frame on one side and then switch to the other working the window down in place. And it did not use a lot of force to get it in correctly, a series of half strength pushes then go to the other side of the car and do the same.

It took about an hour or so to put in the window. But really it was not bad at all.
