Rennline Battery Relocation Kit Experiences and Questions

Hi all,
My car's battery has pooped out, and since I am afflicted with "while you're in there" syndrome, I figured now would be a good time to get a Rennline Battery Relocation Kit, with an Odyssey 925 Battery. It looks like a quality piece, but I couldn't find too much info on the forum about people's experiences with it. Is it relatively plug and play? Money well spent? Does the car's battery harness need to be modified at all? Unfortunately, I am traveling for the next few weeks so I can't just pop the hood and take a look.
Thanks so much,
-Tom

Great product, well made and relatively easy to install. You will need a longer positive cable to reach the SB. Get a bit better weight distribution and more frunk area. Go for it.

Thanks! Can't find the right cable on Pelican. Is this it?

Here is a pretty good general right up to relocating the battery:

I ended up using this box with a PC680:

Odyssey Battery welded hold down

After cutting off the end of the positive cable I pulled it through into the cockpit floor and fished it back through the tunnel and out the large tube from the tunnel into the smugglers box. I now have about 2-3 feet of excess cable to cut off and then re-terminate. I am using a 2AWG copper lug with 1/4" hole to crimp and solder for the termination.

I am rewiring my car and relocating the fuse box to just aft of the smugglers box where the ducting for the fresh air blower went through, therefore, I didn't have to lengthen the power wires.

I've got the 925 in a Rennline mount in the stock location. Very well-built piece. No qualms about their stuff.

Thanks for the info guys! I also emailed Rennline over the weekend and this is what they said:

"In order to use one of our smugglers box relocation kits with factory wiring, the easiest thing to do is to cut the factory end off the battery cable and pull it back into the passenger compartment. There is already a hole from the smugglers box directly into the passenger compartment, so you can simply reroute the main positive through that hole and mount it up that way.

We sell terminal ends (part number EL27) which you can crimp onto the end in place of the cut factory terminal for an easy retrofit. For the ground, the most common way of routing it is to use one of our EL24 battery cable to ground the battery to the steering linkage mounting bracket. You would most likely want the EL24 with EYE ends as those will come with the same style ends as the EL27 eyelet you will want for the positive. This also means you will want whichever battery you go with (925, 680 or 1200) you will want the non-‘T’ style which will provide female ends for the eyelet terminal ends."
