Aero Mirror Install Update

do you know of anyone who makes the 993 style mirror prepainted in factory colors? what about the 993 handles? thanks

Just did a C2 conversion installing them wasnt bad getting that d====m sping compressed and turned was a night mare, Kevin

That spring was tough! I especially liked it that the kit did not come with any instructions! There were like 100 parts in the kit too. Did you install those little rings that went on to hold the spring(I guess this is where they went) slightly compressed before installation? A template would have been a nice addition for the kit, as the left and right mirrors are offset in height and are offset in distance from the front and back of the doors.

As far as anyone offering painted mirrors, I don't know, but I doubt anyone has them. Better Bodies Motorsport had the best price that I have found(I believe I paid $269), so I would recommend them. Any decent shop would be able to prep and paint them for you.

yes the rubber gaskets went on the spring after you compressed the spring a little and there was a top and bottom, i worked at it for several hours with several trips to hardware stores etc, this is finaly how I compressed the spring,you will not believe this
1. I bought a c clamp but it was more of a U clamp the c clamp would not reach
2. When I clamped it it was bound up because i couldnt get to clamp straight had to clamp it a slight angle, with it clamped i could not turn it
3. this is crazy finaly I clamped it then stuck a doubled up paper clip inbetween the notch and the frame released the clamp stuck the but or flat tipped end of my vise grips in the end that looked like a allen hole but i didnt think it was and turned, one mirror i had to try twice
That was absolutely crazy, some may laugh at us but all i can say is that I hope they never have to do it, it wouldnt be bad but no one could tell me what tool i had to buy,
I didnt have to drill any holes or anything they went right were my flag mirrors were, anyway what a mess, Kevin

It was a difficult job, but I am sure it will be worth it! Again I say...where were the instructions?
