Turn signal assembly front bumper - how to reinsert?
Was trying to remove the bulb and these pieces came out. Can anyone tell me how to put the bulb back in? Does the hexagonal washer go in first and then the spring followed by the bulb? Or do they (spring and washer) go behind the contacts in the socket?

I just rebuilt my signals, so I can answer.
First, to make it easier, unplug everything (make notes where each plug goes obviously). Should be a ground to the housing, 2 connections to the plate behind the bulb, and 2 connections to the BACK of the housing. Then you can see clearer that the way it works is the brown electrical plate contacts the back of the bulb when it's inserted. The spring goes behind it in the open cylinder section, then the hex piece traps the spring in place. It gets bound by two small "teeth" on the ends of the cylinder section. You might have to get everything put together then use a drift or something to peen the "teeth" down a bit to really capture it. The spring pushes the contacts against the bulb when you push it in and turn it. |
Awesome thanks! That makes sense.
