Okay, here is a pretty good deal for you folks here on the 911 board. I just finished our revamp of Pelican Parts Express (hard parts for import cars), and I need some testing to be done. So, for a limited time, I have set the pricing on the site to only cover our costs on the product.
If you're interested in picking up some hard parts really cheap, then now (today) is the day to do it, as I will be raising the prices back up to the normal level probably Friday night. What's the catch? There isn't one, really. The only catch is that there might be something that would go wrong with your order. We've tested it internally, but need more orders to verify that it's ready for prime time. Here is the URL: http://www.pelicanpartsexpress.com I'll repost to this post when the trial period is done. The cost-prices apply only to the hard parts in the catalog. Thanks, Wayne

Thanks, Wayne. I just ordered new tail light assembles for the new 964 - and saved about $120 over normal retail price. Wiper blades are a bargain too. You obviously can't keep these prices going for long!

Could you clarify "hard parts" for me. I looked at a few clutch items and they were still the same price. Excuse my ignorance if that is the case but would not clutch parts fall into hard parts? Thanks

I had a few problems buying parts for my Honda. I selected the parts, went to checkout, and was led to an account setup page. OK, I put all the stuff in, update, and the page just refreshes and tells me that my information has been saved. There doesn't seem to be any way to get back to my order. So, I started over, had to put everything back into my cart and the second time, the checkout went fine, just like for Porsche parts. This probably has something to do with a cookie issue, but when a new user signs up, he ought to be able to update his info and be taken to his checkout without losing whatever is in his cart.
The prices were great, though. I bought a valve cover gasket for a little over $6, and I believe my local Auto Zone carries them for $40. Thanks - it's nice for us ricer owners to be able to get parts just as cheaply as the Porsche guys!

I think that you accidentally went to the old site first, and then the computer refreshed to the new site.
The new site checkout should look EXACTLY like the Pelican Parts Porsche checkout. If it doesn't, then your DNS records have not yet updated, and you can't see the new stuff. Pelican Parts Express applies only to Import car parts that are not Porsche and BMW. There was an error on the site that I fixed this morning, that was letting people order Porsche/BMW parts. The only parts that are able to be ordered are non-Porsche and non-BMW parts. If you select either Porsche or BMW, you will be jumped back to the regular Pelican Parts website. -Wayne

Wayne,
I was looking at plug wires for a 97 Toyotal Land Cruiser There is NGK @$54 Bosch @ $84 No Name @ $91 What is the deal with the no name? Is this Toyota (OEM - I'm sure they don't make it)? I saw the same thing with the fuel filter. Jeb '79 930 Last edited by JEB; 10-18-2002 at 04:59 AM.. |

One thing that's missing is a keyword search once you've selected a particular model. I need some lugnuts for my 98 Toyota 4-runner Lmtd and not sure where they might be... Can't do a search...

1st of all- Thanks for the extremely cool incentive. Hope I helped your "research"!
-I ordered a whole bunch of parts to do the head job (and shocks too) on my fiance's Jetta. Tried to get a complete set of belts but I too was referenced to 911 stuff. If you've got those belts, please put a complete set of 1989 Jetta 8V Gas belts in the box ![]() -Checked for an ultra cheap set of engine bearings and gasket kit for the 2.4 but I was too late! Ha...thanks again Wayne, the Jetta was getting awfully tired...

Wayne, I never knew my '96 4-cylinder 4-runner had a Bosch CIS injection system. So now I can swap parts with my SC!
![]() btw, no starter listed...no love. But I'm looking for other stuff I might need to replace. |

Thanks for the feedback guys, we are having a few minor problems...
We get the data from our supplier, so there is a limited amount of information that I have on it, and a limited amount of support as well. If parts don't appear in a certain category, then we cannot get them. PPE is quick and easy for main replacement parts only. I got the 911/Turbo thing - I'll fix that shortly. The search engine will be up there this weekend - you will be able to search on words, and also on OEM part numbers. Last chance, I'm going to bump the pricing back up momentarily... Thanks, Wayne

Fixed! Thanks for your help everyone! We got about 15 or so orders processed and going. I have readjusted the prices back to their normal level (feel free to keep shopping, of course).
Search engine should be up over the weekend, along with some other minor annoyances fixed as well. As for DriveBelts, I'm not sure why there's nothing in that category... -Wayne
