and I'm sure you don't have those flares either. Maybe you were ripped off (he he he).

Nice illustration though.

Not exactly period correct ... with the brakes, seats, or flares & wheels/tires, but a nice drawing, anyway! Perhaps a bit of fantasy work was at work in the mind of the artist.

seats, harnesses, RS door panels, flares, brakes, camber bar, rollcage, exterior elec kill switch... But hey, I think it encompasses what I would like to do or have myself (or at least one of the permutations). I'm guessing maybe it was the artist's car.

My guess is that it's a one-off -- that the artist does the specific details of a customer's car.

Sort of like Steve Anderson does.

Previous thread.

Has anyone ever seen a cut-away drawing of a 74-89 911? I'd like one for my desktop.

way cool 911S

that is my idea of an R Gruppe kinda car. Take note fellas, those front wheels are 15x8s and 9s in the rears on 50 series tires. i would venture to guess that they're 225/50 on 8s and 245/50 on the rears. It looks very much like a 1970 911ST which is what I would like to build someday. We actually have a perfect donor car for such a project, a 70 911S which someone had modified into a Carrera RS 3.0 look back in the late 70's. My brother currently Romy owns it and we've since put a 3.0 motor in it. I told him that we will have to turn it into a 911ST clone someday but we won't call it a clone, it'll be simply called an R Gruppe 911.

OK - Here's another cutaway

The pic below was scanned off of a picture my neighbor gave me a while back. He was a retired professional photographer who knew the illustrator. It seems the illustrator would draw these for various car mags, and would have photos taken before he sent them in.

Sorry about the clipped edges - I cropped when scanning, and for some reason the edges got clipped when I reduced resolution to fit on the board. If anyone wants a copy of the full-sized scan (~9 megs) drop me a line.

Not the best, but the price is right.
