Rear View Mirror Vibration Refurb

The rear view mirror in my '73 911 is almost unusable at speed. I have looked at resolving this issue a couple of times and then lost momentum.

This time around while searching the Pelican universe it dawned on me how many of the posts that came up in searches seemed familiar but yet not applicable.

Does anyone have suggestions for reducing vibration in an existing mirror?

I thought this must be a common problem with the ball joint considering how bad mine was. In the end it was the single screw that vertically attaches the mirror arm to the base plate that was loose.

I am so looking forward to seeing what's behind me.

Thanks for posting this. I have a little vibration and now know of a good starting point.

The problem in this case was definitely that I had a screw loose. :p

Felt pretty dumb but hopefully it helps others.

Can you tell me the torque spec on the screw? :D
