Why not? It MUST be quite thoroughly sealed against water intrusion.

Plus, that worked to prove my '78's CDI was going TU...

TU was the direct result of intermittent alternator/VR over-voltages.

CDI has NO protection against excessive, >15V, supply voltage.

Afternoon all,

Having the same problem as the OP, can the CD box be a problem, yet sound normal (whining?)

Also the white wire from the CD box to the coil, what voltage should I see on that wire and should it be steady or pulsing?
