82SC - 28mm 930 wheel spacers a good idea?
There are a set of 28mm 930 wheel spacers on my local craigslist for $150. I always thought would be nice to fill out the wheel wells a bit more on my 82 sc.
Is this a good idea? Would it involve mandatory new studs and how much work is that? Anything I should be worried about or reasons not to do it? I think I have stock 8" rims on the back - I keep forgetting to spin em around and look when I have em off the car to confirm. Will I toast my wheel bearings sooner? Purely a vanity thing - sure 9" fuchs would be grand but dont have 3500 burning a hole in my pocket right now.

Definitely will need longer studs, probably in the 60mm range. Don't quote me, measure to be sure to get the correct ones. The job isn't too hard for the standard DIY person.
I think they MIGHT put the wheels too far out though if you have the 8s. With 7s they would fine.

street good, track bad. you will definitely go thru rear bearings. I am rebuilding the rear wheels cause im sick of replacing bearings every year due to the spacers.

I have fake Fuchs(made in Italy) in 16x7 and 16x8. They work fine and look good.
You may want to consider looking at some of the newer replicas in 17 inch sizes. The tire selection is much better and will probably remain that way for a long time. Tires to fit the 16x9 inch rim properly are getting hard to find with matching front sizes, typically 205/55 front and 245/45 rear.
