Flag mirror glass removal
Can anybody please tell me how to pop out the three prong configuration mirror from a early type flag mirror. All i find is about the later ring type.

my 83 are the three pin type. Get ahold of one of the mirror edges and pull on it. It will pop off. Than go to the other end of the mirror and do the same thing. In the process of taking mine off one of the pins came off the back of the mirror and had to be glued back on using some epoxy as I recall.

There is a small hole at the bottom or the mirror. Take a small screwdriver and move the locking ring counter clockwise, and it should come out without glueing it back on.
Cheers Engelbert

The late type flag mirror has a locking ring mechanism, the earlier came with a three prong configuration.

The only downside of the three prong is they tend to corrode and stick. So the removal force can be a little higher than you think it should be. Easy to break the heating element bonded to the back.
