Front Valance Gap, 87 Carrera

I'm re-assembling my car slowly and fitting the front valance/bumper/etc.
I don't have a photo of my car before paint so from this low angle. What kind of gap would others find between the bottom of the bumper and the valance in the center 16" area maybe ?
I seem to only have maybe 3/16" at most in the center with plenty on the sides. The side pieces that connect to the fender seem to fit fine.
Of course the Valance had been smacked a bit over 28 years. Could my center brackets be bent a bit causing the valance to be a bit high ? You really have to try to notice this so I'll probably leave it. It would be much easier now to attempt to bend them up a tad if that's possible to bring the center of the valance down. Screws are just finger tight. The bottom edge of the bumper is contoured so that exaggerates the look some. Just the center is my thought. Am I nit picking ?

Mine has a pretty consistent gap all across. Yours might just need to be pulled "down" just a bit in the center. I doubt anyone would look that close, though.

If it bothers you, adjust it.

I zoomed in on some hi-res. DE photos and that line looks pretty nice "before" but always difficult to see because gap is always in shadow. Going to just keep re-assembling and consider going back later. Thanks.

Also figured out another detail. You can tweak the bumper level using the bolts. Loosen the bottom bolts, tighten the top bolts and brought the back edge of the bumper down about 1/4" and it actually increases the gap down at the valence front and reduces it around the sides. Looks much better and the accordion fits correctly. Keep the smile touching all the way around the top.
