Sachs clutch kit vs. Porsche clutch kit

Hi,
I'm going to replace the clutch in my 84 911 3.2, while the trans is out for a synchro refresh. Is there any reason to spend another $400 on the porsche kit vs. the standard sachs kit?

This clutch will probably be in the car for another 30 years, so I don't mind spending the money if there's value there...but if there isn't value, I can think of many other ways I'd rather spend $400.

So is it worth it?

(Yes, I searched before posting this...please point me to a thread if I missed it, that answers this question!)

Thanks,
Rich

Sachs was original equipment, so may be the same, but if the dealer kit still comes with the original wider disc, unlike the sachs kits we get now, it may be worth it.

John, can you elaborate. Why is the wider disc better? More friction surface area for smoother engagement and longer life?

What do you put on the cars in your shop?

Well that sucks.

Anyone buy one if these lately? Are they still using the reduced diameter discs?
