Help ID request - under glove box / ashtray

I am trying to remove the aftermarket stereo PO installed so I can put on the Monterey SQR23. However, this one looks like a wired remote commander.



Can somebody ID the one encircled if its still part of the aftermarket sound system? Are these climate control for the AC?

finally got the Monterey installed

BEFORE - After market Sony with CD changer and external receiver and amp.


NOW - Back to its original look (although not wired)

If one has deleted all the cruise control components in the engine compartment, is it safe to delete this also? I.e., would it adversely affect anything else?

just unplug it, but save it. best not to lose pieces from a 491.
