USAF Sargeant Duffield here!
Yes, there are actually some sharpie's in the AF. The leading comment was that the AF only had two enemies: Dirt & Ignorance. They were pretty successful about the Dirt. Ignorance was insurmountable. Good luck on your final interview. You deserve it! David Duffield |

Lee? Why these responses? Because I think many here are now deciding that..George Orwell was an optimist...hell, I've known it for years!

Is your life like this all the time, Leland? You should consider screenwriting.

Now THAT's funny!
In hindsight, and if your job wasn't on the line, you really could have had some fun with that one... "well sir, the purpose of the SCWDP is simple. To take over the world for the greater glory all Porsche 911 SC's." Is an awfully good start... I'm SC powered... So in the end, I guess that makes me an honorable member Lee?

Awesome! My dad was a CT (spook) in the Navy. I remember him telling me once when I was getting to be about high school age that if anyone I ever knew said they had been asked about him/me/us not to worry that due to his clearances they just did checkups from tiem to time, so this was something that I could somewhat relate to. Just goes to show that anything that you read on the internet must be true.

Lee - that was great. I work for DOD and have been through the various background investigation(s). Good way to meet the neighbors!
We all need to remember that whatever we post out here in the WWW is going to be part of our permanent high school record so act(post) accordingly! You can't erase it!

I like the sound of this guy. Let's sign 'im up and get him into an SC.
When I worked with the New Zealand Ministry of Death (Defense), I had, and still have, NZ's highest level of government security clearance, and had access to lots of information - should I have cared. Anyway, I was at a party and an extremely attractive woman approached me and said she was with a peace organisation and was interested in receiving Defense information. I laughed it off and said I didn't know anything worth knowing etc thinking it was a setup by our spooks department. But what I should have said is spend the night with me and I'll tell you everything in the morning - then the next morning I would say "We are having our Christmas party at Il Casino, Brian always has two donuts with his coffee, Susan is secretly seeing Michael" and rave on like a half wit. Still can't go back in time. |

Thanks for posting that, it's gotta be the best thing I've read on this BBS for ages!
![]() I bet it was a real ball-shrivelling moment for you. I could imagine your heart stopping and the cold, heavy, lead ball forming in your chest. Glad to hear you were both able to laugh about it. Good Luck with your application!
