Lock button is bent.
I need to remove the door panel. I've read the tech article. Any other advice is welcome. ![]() |

I think you can just bend it back......that simple.
When you take the door panel off and see what the lock button is screwed onto, you'll understand. Should be a breeze to fix. As quick as 15 sec to 1 hr max.

Okay. I'll try again to gently push it back into proper alignment.
In any case, is there anything I must know about removing the door panel? The window gear may need attention. |

Just carefully remove the lock knob (screws off), the trim piece on the top of the door (a screw on either end beneath the little black caps...pry off with small screw driver), window crank, door pulls/pocket, etc.
Finally, I put a thin putty knife between the door panel and door frame and start prying it off the snap retainers (about 6-8 of those), can't remember for sure. You'll see a plastic moisture barrier behind the door panel. After that you'll find all the "innerds" of the door. Just take your time. Bag and label everything you remove....take pictures. It's not really all that hard. Just takes some time, patience and understanding. As more questions if you get stymied. Good luck.
