I had the misfortune to open my garage a couple of weeks back, to find that a dismantled double bed stored in the roof space, supposedly securely, had decided to come down on the roof of my pride and joy.
First thoughts were that the car could be completely written-off, but almost unbelievably I got away with a couple of very minor dents - a little crease at the back of the roof, right in the middle, and a dent the size of a fingernail where the roof curves down to the back wing, right at the top of the C-pillar. A legacy to the strength of metal on these early 911s. Now does anyone have any idea whether these can be removed by one of these dentmaster people, or is there some form of double-skinning that would prevent that? I'm aware that the roof lining would need to come down at least. One place I have been to implied that the dent people wouldn't be able to do a good job on it, and that it should be sprayed, but that may just be because they don't have experience of dent removal themselves. And please please please don't tell me not to store things in the roof space above my car. I've learnt that lesson the hard way. |

Take the Porsche to a paintless dent removal specialist. I'd call around or talk to your wrench to get a recommendation. I think you'll be amazed at what these guys can fix.
